Sri Lanka beat Kenya by 9 wickets

Sri Lanka beat Kenya by 9 wickets in the World Cup match 14, group ‘A’, played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Host side got their easy target in 19^th over. Before thisLasith Malinga hat-trick finished Kenyan innings on 142. Fast bowler took 6 wickets. Just two batsmen reached into the double figures. Upul Tharanga scored 67 runs.
Choosing the option of bat first after winning the toss, Kenyan side goes early in when both openers Seren Waters and Maurice Ouma went back to pavilion on just 8 runs. In this stage Obuya brothers, Collins Obuya and David Obuya played very slow but sensiable cricket and pick their team’s total to 102. The innings of Collins Obuya ended on 52 while his brother’s on 51.
Steve Tikolo (7), Tanmay Mishra (0), Captain Jimmy Kamande (1), Peter Ongondo (0), Shem Ngoche (0), and Elijah Otieno (0) not show any resistance against Malinga and went back quickly.  With the fall of all wickets the final score of Kenyan side was 142 in 43.2 overs. Nehemiah Odhiambo was not out on 8.
Lasith Malinga was the most successful bowler from his side, his bowling figures were 6/38 including a hat-trick. Nuwan Kulasekara, Angelo Mathews and Muttiah Muralitharan took one wicket each.
Following the easy target of 143, Eye-Landers got their target in 18.4 overs with the loss of a single wicket. Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan added 72 runs in the opening partnership. Dilshan went back to pavilion after scoring 44 runs. New batsman, Kumar Sangakkara came to join the crease and not permitted the African side to take any more wickets.
